GEORG LEGACY. ORKIS FUTURE.
GEORG has played a central role in bringing together Icelandic and international actors in geothermal research, innovation and project development.
Following the merger of GEORG, Orkuklasinn and Íslensk NýOrka, these capabilities continue within ORKIS Energy Cluster Iceland.
Through ORKIS, the GEORG legacy is being carried forward in a broader energy ecosystem, connecting research, industry, government, innovation and international partners to develop funded projects and measurable impact.
This is very consistent with the merged organisation’s stated role as a bridge between research, business and government and its emphasis on international projects and competitive funding.
