GEORG Geothermal Research Cluster together with Region of Western Macedonia offers a bilateral relationship between Iceland and Greece. On this occasion, we would like to invite you to apply to participate in a study trip to Greece within the EEA project “Integrated RES Actions towards Development of Local Community of Grevena”; more info.

The study trip is a great opportunity to develop network channels within Greek cluster of RES companies covering three fields of interest:

  • Geothermal heat pumps and its applications to the buildings
  • Greenhouse knowhow and District Heating
  • Exploitation of deep geothermal fields on the Greek islands (possibility of organizing meeting with PPC Renewables -PPCR and other key players in the specific research area)

Study trip info:

  • The study trip fund can support 1 – 2 experts
  • Traveling dates:  last week of November 2017– 15 December 2017
  • Travel duration: 4 days / 3 nights
  • Funding supports: travel Iceland – Greece – Iceland; accommodation 3 nights;

Day 1 | Arrival in Thessaloniki, Accommodation to Kozani city (150 Km far from the airport)
Day 2 | Meeting in Grevena with Regional Authorities; Visit to pilot case study of Grevena (six public buildings – RES interventions)
Day 3 | Meeting in Kozani with Regional Authorities; Visit premises of DEYAK (District Heating of Kozani); Visit premises of CERTH in Ptolemaida
Day 4 | Departure (perhaps through Athens in order to meet PPCR for deep geothermal projects)

In reply please specify the preferred travelling period and field of interest. The winning applicants will be selected in cooperation with our Greek partners and announced at latest November 24th.  The selection will be based on the expertise you can offer and the possibility of future collaboration.
