GEORG 15th Anniversary Celebrations
The GEORG Gleði took place on March 15th, in celebration of GEORG’s 15th anniversary.
In 2009, the Government of Iceland’s Science and Technology Council awarded GEORG with a grant of 70 million ISK to establish an international research cluster for geothermal energy. Since then, GEORG has supported and administered international geothermal projects, sponsored the education of geothermal experts, and facilitated the advancement of geothermal research and innovation globally and domestically in Iceland. The GEORG team felt strongly that this occasion warranted a celebration.
A prominent aspect of the event was to celebrate the Icelandic geothermal sector, and the role GEORG has played in nurturing it. In light of that, the GEORG Gleði took place in Icelandic.
The event was a great success, and the GEORG office extends its heartfelt gratitude to the speakers who participated in the program, and to all attendees.
