Iceland’s energy sector is entering a new chapter. The GEORG Geothermal Research Cluster, Renewable Energy Cluster Iclenad, and Íslensk NýOrka have united under a single identity: ORKIS – Orka Íslands, Iceland’s Energy Cluster platform.
For GEORG, this is not a departure; it is a strengthening. The research programmes, partnerships, and Horizon Europe projects that define GEORG’s work continue without interruption. The name changes; the mission deepens.
ORKIS Energy Cluster Iceland is a platform born from the strength of three strong and successful organisations, built to lead Iceland’s clean energy future. Under one name and one mission, we bring Icelandic expertise, industry networks, and commercial innovation together to turn knowledge into local and global impact.
For partners, funders, and collaborators: all ongoing Horizon Europe engagements and project commitments remain fully in place. GEORG’s role within national and other international frameworks continues under the ORKIS umbrella. Points of contact remain the same.
