In the past year, GEORG has been involved in numerous activities that strengthen international collaboration on the advancement of geothermal energy. Here are some of the highlights:
→ GEORG co-organized a workshop in Oradea, Romania, which was funded by the EEA Grants GeoThermal Bridge Initiative Project. The goal of the workshop was to strengthen collaboration between Iceland, Romania, and Poland in the field of geothermal energy.
→ GEORG organized a study trip in Iceland for Polish participants in the EEA Grants Geothermal Synergy Project. Polish participants were introduced to innovative ways to utilize geothermal energy.
→ GEORG co-organized COMPASS Iceland Week, which was funded by the Horizon Europe COMPASS Project. Activities focused on knowledge-exchange between international participants on super hot geothermal.
→ GEORG organized a workshop on underground thermal energy storage (UTES) in Vienna in cooperation with IEA Geothermal, GEOTHERMICA Initiative and the Horizon Europe GEOTHERM FORA Project.
→ GEORG co-organized a workshop in Glasgow on geothermal heating and cooling with several organizations.
→ GEORG organized a symposium with IEA Geothermal and the GEOTHERMICA Initiative on underground thermal energy storage (UTES) in conjunction with the European Geothermal Congress in Zurich.
→ GEORG co-organized a BRYCK event in Essen on investments and innovation in the geothermal sector, in collaboration with Landsvirkjun.
